Reasons You Need SEO

Are you wondering if implementing a SEO strategy for your company's website is worth it? If so, then there's strong reasons why you should reconsider your opinion. Below are reasons why your business site requires a well-conceptualized SEO strategy:

You want your site to rank higher

Think of all of the millions of sites that are indexed by search engines like Google everyday. Even if those sites were indexed by specific keywords, chances are great that there are tens of thousands of urls that are relevant to your site and the keywords you might be using.

How would anyone find your one site out of tens of thousands? More importantly, how in the world could you ensure that your site will reach the page of the search engine results? There's never any guarantees, but there are things that can be done to figuratively stack the deck in your favor.

You can optimize your site in a way that allows your site to rank higher while also providing site end-users a better user experience. These are key factors that separate urls that get clicked on from those who remain buried at the bottom of the search results.

The numbers don't lie

In case you're still wondering if SEO is really worth the time and financial investment, you should consider the data supporting its use.

For example, Forbes reports this:

A study by Conductor of over 310 million visits to 30 different websites showed that organic search accounted for 64% of all referral traffic. While other research seems to indicate that social media has now overtaken search slightly in terms of referrals, there’s no question that search remains a critical source of traffic for most businesses...

...(And)according to Search Engine Journal, SEO leads result in an average close rate of 14.6%, compared to close rates of 1.7% for outbound leads.

Over half of all tested website visits were due to the results of those sites being optimized for SEO. Specifically, those sites were optimized for search engine end-users to find the targeted urls quickly. The only way for this to happen is for those urls to appear at the very top of the search results. As such, the easier it is for end-users to find a site, the more likely it is for the end-user to take action, resulting in conversions for the business owner.

Page one ranking leads to credibility

There's a pecking order for most things in life, and the same holds true for digital marketing. When it comes to digital marketing, and specifically, SEO, the goal is for digital marketers (business owners who use websites to generate online business) to make sure that their website ranks as highly at the top of the search engine results as possible.

Page one is the idea place for a url result to land in the search results. This is because most end-users don't look for results beyond page one, and they're certainly not going to look for results on page three and beyond. What's more, page one results are perceived the be the most credible. Results that land on page two aren't trusted as much, and page three (and below) results are treated with suspicion - what if they're malware or spammy urls?

Even worse, if your url result lands on page four or below, then the chances are great that no one will click on your url. So if you're going to play the game, you might as well play to win - make sure that your site is optimized for page one results, as much as possible.
